A wealthy burgher's house located centrally in Arendal at Tyholmen, Kløcker's House has been converted into a local museum and centre for a range of historical activities. The visitors gain an impression of how wealthy citizens of Arendal lived during the city's golden age in the 17-1800s, when Arendal was, at its height, one of Europe's major shipping ports. The old general store is open along with the museum, and the old style hard candy might tempt both young and old. Also housed in the museum is the world’s largest display of model ships in bottles, all made by the talented Kjell Birkeland.
